Small Business Owner Success Series in Fredericksburg Virginia

The Business Owner Success Series (BOSS) is designed specifically to provide Fredericksburg area small business owners with practical, actionable advice. We bring in experts to share guidelines, tips, and answer specific questions to help us improve our businesses. Meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday at noon.

  • Business Owner – Each topic will be designed specifically for micro business owners and the unique challenges we face.
  • Practical – Each presentation will be clearly “real world” and not magical fantasy land.
  • Actionable – Each presentation will include or guide you to develop your own “to do” action items before you leave.
  • Expert – Each speaker will be an expert in their field with real-world experience to back it up.
  • Applicable – Each presentation will include 10+ minutes for Q&A so you can get clarification or ask the expert for insight directly into your personal business challenges.


Meeting Details

  • On the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month.
  • Meeting begins at 12 noon. Arrive early to network and grab your meal.
  • Lunch is included or bring your own if you prefer.
  • FREE – The meeting and lunch are provided at no charge.

Starting with the top areas of your LinkedIn profile that are MUST, Linda will teach how to use LinkedIn to grow your business. She’ll explain the benefit of Recommendations, and how to both get them and give them properly. She’ll also explain why (and how) you should use LinkedIn face-to-face, so be sure to come with the LinkedIn app pre-installed on your phone. Linda will also go over Hashtags, and updating your profile.

Linda started using Social Media (especially LinkedIn) in 2008 to help grow her connections and build her business. She has become a Certified LinkedIn Profile Writer and incorporated LinkedIn training into her services to businesses. Linda has trained many companies and entrepreneurs throughout the U.S. She calls LinkedIn “Networking on Steroids”.

Sales and selling is so much more than simply understanding the features and benefits of the products and services you provide. There is a process to selling. In this workshop we review the process of selling. We discuss the steps to the process, which will help anyone improve their sales technique. If you want to improve your close rate and selling skills you should attend this workshop. If your close rate is less than 100% there is opportunity to improve your process, technique, and overall selling. This session is for business owners, sales teams and salespeople.

Speaker: Mike Williams

Before Mike Williams launched The Growth Coach of Northern Virginia he retired from Coca-Cola, where he held a variety of executive positions including business development manager. Mike also worked as a production supervisor, plant training supervisor, recycling coordinator and sales representative with Mobile Chemical Company (now Exxon Mobil) and served six years in the Army.

Mike’s 26 years of experience with Fortune 500 companies have given him a unique perspective on business management and sales. Many of the tools and much of the training available at that level can have profound benefits for small- and medium-sized businesses.

Aaron Rayford (owner of Race Marketing) has been marketing for small businesses in the Fredericksburg area for approximately 12 years. With a degree in Business Marketing from Liberty University he has been able to apply this knowledge directly to his families other business, Little Fish Swimming. Starting out with little to no marketing budget, Aaron learned the value of low cost high return marketing strategies. He is passionate about relational marketing and building relationships with others in business who can be each others best proponents.
